Criteria

The designation emeritus or emerita confers a life-long honorary distinction. UCAR also offers eligible staff the opportunity to continue their UCAR service in a redefined role. These individuals are encouraged to assist the organization and their respective laboratory or program in the area(s) of their competence when requested to do so, particularly in an advisory capacity. 

Nominations are made by the retiring employee's NSF NCAR or UCAR laboratory or program director, or by an appropriate member of the President's Council. Please review the Emeritus/Emerita Nomination Procedure.
